Course Description:
This course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the critical skills and knowledge needed to recognise and respond rapidly to deteriorating adult patients. Participants will learn to apply the ABCDE assessment approach, initiate timely interventions, and coordinate emergency responses to prevent cardiorespiratory arrest. The training also covers effective team participation during resuscitation efforts and the delivery of essential post-resuscitation care until advanced support arrives.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the Seriously Ill Adult: Identify signs of clinical deterioration and initiate appropriate early interventions to prevent cardiorespiratory arrest.
- Apply the ABCDE Approach: Use the structured ABCDE assessment method effectively in emergency scenarios.
- Coordinate Emergency Responses: Manage and lead emergency care efforts while awaiting the arrival of the resuscitation or critical care team.
- Participate in Resuscitation Teams: Perform confidently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary resuscitation team.
- Deliver Post-Resuscitation Care: Provide immediate post-resuscitation care to stabilise the patient until specialist assistance is available.
