Diabetes and Insulin A Comprehensive Training Course

Comprehensive training on diabetes and insulin for healthcare professionals and support staff. This course is powered by Abrams Healthcare LLP and is designed for care homes, domiciliary care and NHS settings.

Participants will explore the fundamentals of diabetes and insulin therapy, including types of diabetes, glycaemic control, insulin administration and the day-to-day care and monitoring required to support people living with diabetes. This is a knowledge component; workplace competence remains the employer’s responsibility.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• Describe the types of diabetes and the difference between type 1, type 2 and related conditions.
• Explain glycaemic control and why blood glucose monitoring is important.
• Outline safe insulin administration, storage and the recognition and treatment of hypo and hyperglycaemia.
• Describe practical day-to-day care, foot and eye care considerations, and when to escalate concerns.
